Don’t you just wish you got this lucky?
What was purchased as costume jewerly from a flea market in the ’80s for a mere $15, was discovered to be worth $450,000! The owner didn’t think it was real as it didn’t sparkly like a real diamond does, and was in a not so attractive mount. Turns out though that 26.27 carat diamond likely was cut in the 19th century, and because of the old style of cutting, the light doesn’t reflect back as much as it would from a modern stone cutting.
The unidentified owner likes her “costume jewelry” quite a bit more now. -GM
