If the Hoff says it’s true, it must be! In a video chat with TMZ, David Hasselhoff explains that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director James Gunn was a big fan of The Hoff’s show about a man and his talking car. This led to the actor’s appearance in the movie— when Chris Pratt’s Star Lord recalls fantasizing that Hasselhoff was his dad. And according to Hasselhoff, his part in Guardians also led to what sounds like a serious effort to revive the ’80s hit. If you haven’t seen the video yet, Hasselhoff says he embraces his TV legacy, “Especially Knight Rider,” and “now we are in talks about maybe bringing it back as a series, which is unbelievable.” Hasselhoff goes on to say, “It’s cool because all the people that have seen all the other re-boots of Knight Rider and didn’t like it are saying ‘let it be true to what it was’—so let me be the old guy.” If you asj me, I think it’ll be cool to see the Hoff behind the wheel of KITT again!
