Here’s a bizarre story: A New York state family returning from vacation in Florida said they discovered two tires had been stolen from their vehicle while it was parked at the airport. Heather Evans said she and her family returned to Rochester Airport and discovered there were two tires missing from the passenger side of their Cadillac Escalade. The rear end of the vehicle was propped up on a cinder block, Evans said. To make matters worse, she said the airport made her family pay the full $168 price for 10 days of parking and told her there was no video surveillance of the area of the garage where her vehicle was parked. The Airport Director said the theft was “an unfortunate situation and a rare occurrence,” and said the Evanses would be reimbursed for the cost of parking and the county will allow the family to file a claim for damages.
