Hmmm, read an interesting story on News8000.com that the City of La Crosse issued more alternate side parking violations this past winter than last year. In 2016-2017 they issued 14,719 tickets, and this past winter they handed out 14,802. Although that’s not much of an increase, they had 31 less days to collect it this year. Police say they’ve become more efficient at collecting the citations with their automated system.
The other point of interest is the City of La Crosse did a comparison of overnight parking ordinances with 12 similar sized cities. And while we all hate paying fines, it should be noted that La Crosse has the lowest fine amount ($10.00) of any of the 12 cities in the report, so there’s that, I guess. Here’s a link to the report.
