Michael Cerami has proven he is a man of his word because of that home run. Cerami is a sports writer who covers the Cubs for BleacherNation.com, and he made a promise ahead of Thursday’s Opening Day game that he would jump in Lake Michigan if the first pitch was hit for a homer, which, as we said, is exactly what happened. It didn’t take long for Cerami to honor his vow, either, as he posted his plunge into Lake Michigan shortly after Ian Happ’s homer.
If Ian Happ leads off today's game with a home run, I will jump in Lake Michigan later today.
