The La Crosse Water Utility is in the process of flushing hydrants for the year, so be aware that some streets and intersections may have standing water. The City says it’s going to take a few days.
I hope I’m not the only one who played in the water when they flushed the hydrants. Yeah the water wasn’t the cleanest, but who could resist playing in a 6″ pond in your street! Nowadays, kids probably can’t get away with it, and some parents would probably freak if they saw their children swimming in the street. Maybe it’s for the best, but there was nothing like stomping up and down trying to soak your friends.
