The City of La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department is excited to present the NEW Festival Foods Grandad Half Marathon. Formerly the Festival Foods La Crosse Fitness Festival, this event will feature a half marathon course which better highlights the fabulous scenery and must-see landmarks of the Coulee Region. The new course starts atop Grandad Bluff, 600 feet above La Crosse, and finishes along the scenic Mississippi River in Riverside Park. Festival Foods Grandad Half Marathon will continue the popular events from previous years, including the Three Rivers 5K Run/Walk, Riverside Youth Races, La Crosse Omnium, and the Coulee Region Bike Tours. Changed from 2012, both the half marathon and 5K will be held on Saturday, May 4th and finish with a celebration in Riverside Park.
The 2013 event will continue to benefit the same great charities including the St. Clare Health Mission, the Youth Enrichment Association (Y.E.A), and Special Recreation of La Crosse. These changes will further the event’s growth and reputation as well as provide a fun, community event for the La Crosse area.
