Winona, Minnesota is where I call home. Born and raised there and have no plans to leave. I spend weekday mornings on Magic 105 with the hilarious Bob and Sheri. Find me Saturday morning from 10am to noon on Magic 105 with the Best of the 80's, Sundays on Kicks1063 from 11am to 6pm, and once a month on a weekend morning on Classic Rock 100.1. In the afternoon on weekdays, I have a job with the Winona Public School District. I absolutely love working with the nutrition program and as a crossing guard. I enjoy spending time with the kids and I get summers off--what more could I ask for?
I have 4 grown children. My oldest is living in Winona with his wife and my grandson. He has a great job working for a trucking firm. My daughter is going on 14 years in the United States Navy. Her and my granddaughter are stationed on Whidbey Island in Washington state. The middle son has just returned from his enlistment in the Navy on the USS Ronald Reagan. He now works at the school with me and will be a college student soon. My youngest is in college and also works part-time here at the radio station and the school. Sometimes working together is a family affair for us :).
My education consists of three post-secondary degrees; none of which I’m using at the present time but knowledge is something that will always be there. The first degree is as a Legal Secretary, second one is a Motorcycle Mechanic, and the third is a BS in Sociology/Criminal Justice from WSU where I graduated Cum Laude. I’d love to go back to school for a degree in music but there never seems to be enough time.
From as far back as I can remember, music has been my passion. I started singing about 15 years ago and found that I had a small bit of talent. My youngest son who is a fantastic singer convinced me to audition for a musical and a new passion was born. Since then, we’ve been in numerous productions. I’ve also competed in several singing contests--won some, lost some, but always had fun doing them. For years I have said that I just didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. Now I know. My goal is to continue my career in the music business. Along with being a DJ for The LaCrosse Radio Group, I sing lead with my band, sing backup with an acoustic group, own a karaoke/DJ business, and do community theater. I’m living my dream!!
I love all genres of music and I am honored to be a part of the LaCrosse Radio Group.
