If John had the money, I know he’d be first in line to bid on this piece of Star Wars history: Han Solo’s blaster! On June 23, Julien’s Auctions will put one of three blasters actually used in Return of the Jedi up for bids at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
With the auction timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of Episode VI, the weapon is estimated to sell for between $300,000 and $500,000. Han’s blaster was made from a Mauser C96, an actual German gun, that was customized with resin and various found parts to make it look like the kind of thing you’d find in a galaxy far, far away. And as Han would say, “There’s no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”
