Living here in the Dairy State, we need to be darn proud of our dairy farmers. That’s why this story caught our attention:
The Food and Drug Administration is moving to make sure non-dairy products aren’t called milk. FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said yesterday he intends to enforce the definition of milk as something that comes from a cow, not a plant. The rule has been on the books for a long time, but it hasn’t been enforced against products such as soy milk and almond milk. Gottlieb says the FDA will step up enforcement over the next year or so.
