Only in Florida!

We’re starting with video of a man who made a beer run to a Jacksonville, FL convenience store carrying a live alligator with its mouth taped shut. Video posted online shows the unidentified man walking into the store holding the gator under his right arm. He walked toward the counter, asking, “Ya’ll ain’t out of beer are you?” He then sees someone in the back of the store and says, “Is he taking the last bit of beer? You aren’t taking the last bit of beer are you?” The man with the gator jokingly runs at the other man as people in the store laugh. He then grabs a 12-pack of beer. The video ends without showing if the man paid for the beer or how the incident at the store ended, but the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is said to be investigating the incident.

Bear-ly Making It Out!

From Colorado Springs, a bear trapped in a storm drain was able to climb to freedom last week after Colorado utility workers removed a manhole cover. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Southeast Region shared a video of the bear peaking out of the drain, waiting to be rescued.  Once the workers removed the manhole cover, the bear gently climbed out and ran off.  A rubber bullet was used to “haze” the bear so it would be encouraged to leave the area.  The department wanted to avoid tranquilizing and relocating the bear because that would be a strike against it and could lead to it being euthanized later on.

Fishing For Eternity

And finally, we have the ultimate, and eternal, gift for the fisherman or woman in your life. We found a company named “Glory Boats,” that makes caskets that appear to be miniature fishing boats. The company says they make customized caskets for those who love the outdoors and reeling in some fish. Their slogan, “Celebrating the lives of outdoorsmen,” captures this very message. The boats, listed at $2,800, come in three different colors: Woodland camo, marsh grass, and pink camo for the ladies.
