We already know that the grill can cook up a delicious steak or hamburger, but did you know that you could also use it to pop popcorn? In fact, all popcorn kernels really need is an adequate source of heat for them to pop into a delicious snack!
Popping the Popcorn
Sprinkle popcorn kernels on the bottom of a disposable aluminum baking pan. You can choose any sized pan you want! By adding kernels in a single layer to the bottom of the pan, you’ll always pop a perfect amount.
Add enough vegetable oil to coat the kernels. Sprinkle with salt, to taste. Cover the pan loosely with heavy-duty aluminum foil. Set the grill on medium heat, close the lid, and wait until the popcorn starts to pop.
Using a pair of grill tongs, shake the pan gently from side to side as it pops. Turn off the heat after the kernels have been popping for about a minute. Let it rest on the heat until the popping slows down. Transfer immediately to a serving bowl so that bottom kernels don’t burn. Season as desired.
