A baby boom is brewing at a suburban Arizona hospital where 16 – count ’em 16!- intensive care nurses recently discovered they are all pregnant. The nurses at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa outside Phoenix joked Friday they thought there was something in the water when it became clear they were all expecting babies between October and February. Patients of the hospital shouldn’t worry, hospital officials note that the Banner chain has a pool of floating nurses that should ensure shifts are covered. The nurses said their colleagues are throwing a group baby shower next week, and the hospital on Friday gave the women one-piece rompers reading, “Relax! My mom is a Banner nurse!”
Who says country artists don’t have anything to do with the late Aretha Franklin? At the Forum in LA Saturday night, Chris Stapleton paid tribute to the singer he called his “all-time favorite” with a powerful take on Franklin’s 1967 hit “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man,” saying she was the greatest singer of all time. “I would never presume to sing an Aretha Franklin song,” Stapleton said, “but in tribute to her tonight, I’ll give it my best shot.” All we can say is, “Wow!”
